In the Q&A style interview, Darragh discussed the state of LEI issuance across the EU ahead of the recent passing of SFTR (Securities Financing Transaction Regulation). They also covered the importance of the LEI to the ‘transparency objective’ of SFTR, and what the LEI requirement means specifically for market participants who have to apply before finishing on what steps might be taken by UK market participants in the case of a ‘no deal’ Brexit.
